SEFEMEQ Presentation


The Department of Economics, Finance and Quantitative Methods (SEFEMeQ) coordinates academic research and post-graduate specialist training, MSc and PhD, within the School of Economics. It comprises almost 50 members, whose research interests span areas ranging from mathematical methods, financial intermediaries and financial markets, applied econometrics and statistical theory, domestic and international economic policy, taxation and public economics, social security, environmental economics, to regulation and competition policy.

Within the Department, there is a thriving research culture, fostered by a friendly atmosphere, and facilitated by regular seminars. Research links with the outside academic and policy-making community are wide ranging, both nationally and internationally, via attendance to conferences and workshop, as well as third parties scientific and professional consultancy.
